Your Support Means the World to the Children in the ACH Nephrology Clinic
Kidney Disease affects Children Too!!
I am taking part in Kidney March again (8th straight year) - a 3 day,
100 km journey from Kananaskis to Calgary. This is more than just a walk; I am joining with hundreds of others as a united front against kidney disease.
Why? Because I am passionate about helping children and their families deal with kidney disease. Sponsoring me raises money for the Kidney Foundation of Canada that makes a real difference to the life of children in the Nephrology Clinic at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary.
The Southern Alberta Branch of the Kidney Foundation of Canada is sponsoring the Kidney Kamp again this year – a great time for children from the ACH Nephrology Clinic to have fun at a summer camp even with their complex medical needs.
While there is no cure (yet) the Kidney Foundation of Canada raises dollars to fund research to improve the care of children living with kidney disease. It also raises money to help families with added costs not covered by Alberta Health Care or drug insurance.
Thus on September 9th, 10th and 11th, I am participating in Kidney March. It will be a challenge for me but nowhere near the challenge that children face with chronic kidney disease. A chronic illness so encompassing as kidney disease deserves a walk of this magnitude. I should be training in preparation of marching 100 km.I certainly need your help. My goal is to raise a minimum of $15,000. Please sponsor me to help children with kidney disease.
Failure is not an option for the children I help look after.
