Your Support Means the World to Me
Kidney Disease is on the rise, affecting one in 10 Canadians.
This is big. I am taking part in Kidney March - a 3 day, 100 km journey from Kananaskis to Calgary.
Why? Kidney disease has become very personal to me. One of my co-workers; named Saad at DIRTT (who also happens to be Graham's boss) has had 2 Kidney transplants in the last 15 years. This has made my reasons for doing this simple.....it all begins and ends with Saad.
- I promised Saad last
September that I would walk with him this year. A promise is a
promise, I can’t go back on it.
- I love to support any
organization that helps with organ donation. I have a niece that
received a double lung transplant in 2002. Our family was kept whole
because of this donation and we will never forget it.
- Walking is the best way
to get in shape and stay in shape.
- Kidney failure can be fatal. Unfortunately, it is a leading cause of death in Canada. There is no cure.
- I LOVE working at DIRTT and supporting my co-worker is another way to show my appreciation.
On September 8th, 9th and 10th, we will be walking from Millarville Race Track to Calgary Olympic Park. I am training in preparation of marching the 100 km. But I need your help. My goal is to raise a minimum of $2,200. Please sponsor me.
Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it! If you have any secrets on how to treat blisters, please share :)
